Position Summary
The Communications Manager supports Rung for Women’s mission by leading the coordination and management of external communications, content creation, social media, and public engagement strategies. We’re seeking a creative and collaborative storyteller with a love of words, a passion for sharing impact, and a commitment to growth. This role is part of the Advancement department and works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure clear, consistent, and compelling communication with all stakeholders and the public.

How You’ll Contribute
This position helps promote Rung’s mission and programs through all external channels. The Communications Manager will assist in raising awareness across audiences including potential and current donors and members, volunteers, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure Rung’s brand supports and enhances Rung’s business objectives.

· Create content within Rung’s brand guidelines and ensure consistency, accuracy and engagement within all external-facing channels.

· Attend organizational events to collect content including photos, videos, and other media for marketing and social use.

· Maintain and update Rung’s website with current content, easy usability and dynamic and relevant SEO.

Promote Rung’s brand and reputation with a variety of stakeholders.

· Create, write and edit blog posts, emails, scripts/talking points, monthly newsletters, website content, and social media posts and reels to inform stakeholders about Rung events, recruitment cycles, member stories and achievements, impact, and other aspects of community engagement.

· Work with program team and members to curate stories with impact and meaning to translate and share across various communication channels.

· Create and curate organized filing system to access curated content about program and members for various agency newsletters

· Support the implementation and use of the organization’s communication plan

· Management and organization of a library of photos and videos.

· Direct or respond to external stakeholders through social platforms and Rung’s info mailbox in a timely manner (5 business days or less).

· Stay up to date and implement latest content trends, tools and best practices for optimal communication across all channels.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

· Work on the Recruitment & Marketing (RAM) Team to ideate and create content for member and new program participant recruitment.

· Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications to tell Rung’s story and promote our mission across all platforms.

· Work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the entire Rung community to meet their communication and brand needs.

· Assist with organizational events both in-office and within the community.

· Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

· Periodic supervision and oversight of Rung Communications Intern.

What You Bring
· Passion for Rung’s vision and mission.

· Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

· Superb written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience planning, creating, editing and managing social media content (written, photography, and video) across multiple platforms. Ability to collaborate with Advancement team on the development of institutional messaging

· Ability to connect with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds

· Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively; self-directed; responsible and accountable for decisions

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Drive and ambition to pursue excellence while maintaining composure under pressure

· Demonstrated knowledge of website development and management using WordPress, with hands-on experience in SEO, e-commerce platforms, and performance/analytics tracking.

· Experience developing and executing structured, multi-platform social media content strategies (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, etc.), leveraging performance metrics and analytics to strategically increase impact, engagement, and reach, including hands-on video editing for short- and long-form content.

· Experience with media relations, advertising, email marketing, CRM systems, and basic graphic design tools, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
